These chainsaw chaps are the new Forester Brand zipper style, featuring a zipper closure around the calf instead of numerous buckles. This innovative design means fewer broken buckles, less straps to get caught on brush, fewer readjustments, and less time putting on the chaps.
The fabric composition is as follows: the Outer Shell is 100% Polyester 1200D Oxford, the Protective Pads are 8PLY WTS-2 with 95.6% polyester and 4.4% aramid fiber, and the Lining is 210T Taffeta 100% polyester. Despite the robust materials, the chaps weigh under 3lbs even for the Large size.
These chaps are UL Classified as a Leg Protective Garment in accordance with ASTM F1897 Standard Specification for leg protection for chain saw users (ASTM F1897-2008 39JY). They also meet the Leg Protection Requirements for OSHA 1910.266 Standards for Chainsaw Operators, as classified by UL using ASTM Test Method F1414 in accordance with ASTM Standard F1897.
In terms of sizing, the chaps measure 35" for Small, 37" for Regular, and 40" for Large. The waist is adjustable from 30" to 42". The chaps feature a 2" flip belt for length adjustment and Dual Calf adjustments for width around the calf. The calf area below the knee has 360 degree protection.
The care instructions are as follows: Hand Wash Only in cold water and Hang Dry. Do not use any bleach or harsh detergents, as they can damage the protective fibers of the safety pads. Do not dry using a hot dryer, as the protective cloth may shrink.
